I started running/walking combo and it works so well for me. I am an impatient person when it comes to exercise (the quicker the better) or else I get bored. I started walk 2 mins jog 1 min for 30 mins (2 miles) and worked my way up gradually to run 5 mins walk 1 min for 50 mins (counting warm up and cool down) for 3.5 miles. I get a better cardio from it than walking.
