Hi! I'm 31 years old and have been following the Weight Watchers plan on and off for approximately the last 10 years. I've struggled with yo-yo dieting the whole time.

It all started many years ago when I got a job in a cookie store. Before that, I had a normal sweet tooth, nothing too extreme, and never had a weight problem. But being surrounded by all those delicious cookies all day, I quickly gained about 30 pounds in the first 3 months. Everyone told me that eventually I would get sick of them and stop wanting them. But after working there for four years, I still looked forward to going to work and eating the cookies!! (To this day I have what feels like an insatiable sweet tooth.)

So I was miserable, and my mom kept offering to bring me to her Weight Watchers meetings with her, as she had been a successful Lifetime member for many years, but I always said I wasn't ready yet. Finally I made the decision to go with her and lost about 35 pounds and became a Lifetime member too. Unfortunately I found maintenance very difficult and I quickly went back to old eating habits, thinking that now that I was thin again, I could eat whatever I wanted like I used to. Wrong!

Years went by, and I kept returning to Weight Watchers and lost and re-gained the 35 pounds at least four times. I've tried other diets, but this was the one that worked the best for me (at least in the short term!) I've noticed now that I am older, losing weight at 31 is not the same as when I was in my early 20s. So I'm using that to motivate me to stay in shape now. I've noticed the scale creeping back up in the last few months so I'm back on the wagon and tackling it again while it's more manageable. I'm no longer attending meetings, but keeping track on my own. So far so good!

I'm getting married to my best friend in August 2009, so I'm also using that as motivation to stay active and eat healthy so that I will look (but more importantly FEEL) my best on the big day!
