Well I made it to the big 50. YAY Me!
In my younger days I didn't think I would make it. Hello.....discounts hahahaha. Well my soon to be husband made me breakfast and coffee this morning and vacuumed the house. He's a keeper.
My daughter will be here at noon to help with my hair. She is going to curl it for my wedding. I have been very diligent with my diet this week, waiting for this day. I will be eating cake today and I have already scoped out the nutritional values for said cake. It shouldn't put too big of a hurting on my diet. I haven't eaten any type of processed food so my biggest fear is that I will get a sugar hang over. I don't drink so I don't have to worry about the calories and sugar in an alcoholic beverage. Thank God.

Here we are at day 3 of recording every mouthful.
I wish I had found this site sooner bc it has really helped me see what I am really consuming every day and helping me make better choices.
I haven't measured or weighed my food since I was in my 20's and really thought it didn't make a difference. And if I eat it, I record it. If I am in the mood for something or feeling hungry, I look at my options and will pick the best option by looking at my fat, carb and protein intake throughout the day.
I will do a weigh in tonight. And see where I fall. Tomorrow is the big day and I want to feel as good as I can. A new day. A new beginning. A better me.

Okay, day 2 of recording my every mouthful. Carbs are already winning. But I will be doing a lot of cleaning today and should be burning extra calories. I just might treat myself to an orange today when I am all done.
My real goal is to lose 45 lbs. But I have changed my goal for now to lose 30 to begin with. I just thought it might be a good idea to start with something more attainable. And I just might be comfortable with that. After all I will be 50 in a few days. And getting remarried.
I am looking forward to making the next 50 years better than the last 10 have been. Not that there haven't been good times, but my mental and physical state have really taken its toll on me. So it is time to put on those big girl panties and run with it. So here I am.....I'm running

Ok, I am on a mission. Before I begin my first challenge, I am trying to work out a food regimen that works the most effectively for me. I have some physical issues that make it hard to exercise effectively all the time so my diet is going to be a big part of my weight loss.
I want to keep my carbs at 50g or less with is much harder than I thought bc I love fruit. And as I have spent much of today trying to create a meal plan I am seeing that if we are to be totally honest with ourselves, the calories really stack up fast.
I thought bc I eat mostly fruits and vegetables and drink my coffee with coffee creamer and no sugar, that it wouldn't be that hard to make adjustments for weight loss. I don't drink soda and my choice of beverage is a large ice water with a wedge of lemon. But if you look at the big picture, I like my coffee (light) so trying to use 2 tsp per cup instead of 2 tbl is going to be my first challenge.
I know that in the end it will be worth it to get my life back...it has been gone for too long.
