Sorry to be away for 3 days. Busy time, and I have written down everything I have eaten but only going to show cal totals today. Weekend is also overbooked.
April 14th, wednesday, total of 1600 approx. I am now having oatmeal for every breakfast, with blackberries
Friday April 16th, total of 1800 approx.
Can't find my food log for the 15th, wrote it on a separate piece of paper rather than my daily book but I believe it was about 1550.
I weighed in this morning, just to see progress. Basically, I do weigh in every morning, and I am attempting to drink 64 oz. of water a day. Have succeed 2 days, fallen short of that amount the other two. If I am too busy or on the road, drinking water becomes a crisis of finding bathrooms in a hurry.
Included in my 1800 cals for Friday is a large vanilla Frosty from Wendys. This, I am not proud of -- I have trouble managing anything with sugar in it -- and am diabetic type 2 so should not have. But going on, trying to ignore this fall from grace. It can NOT be an invitation to me to eat more sugar. I had a stressful Friday and I am sure that is how I justified this item.

But then, I look at my success in Quitting smoking. I learned that I could not say or think, I had a hard day, I deserve to smoke. ONe cigarette and the whole thing was over. So I learned not to, and now I have to learn the same thing with food. Also, prepping the food ahead of time is critical for me. I live in a one room efficiency with a very tiny kitchen, but I just bought a large 6' long table that is in what I call the "dining room" area of the room, and this will be my extended counter space where I can chop and prepare foods ahead.

Oh, I weigh in at 252 this morning. Down 2 pounds in 4 days which makes me happy. Off to the busy day.

I need or want to record all the food I ate yesterday, but I have a busy day and if I use the chart to record all it will take me from now til forever. So for today I am going to record food in this journal entry. I come up with a total of 1795 cals. for yesterday which is just about where I want to be -- 1800 to 2000 cals. Oddly, when I put my weight and height in, the site told me to lose 1 lb. a week I could have 3100 calories a day. Well, I want to lose 2 lbs. a week at least and not eat 3100 cals a day. BREAKFAST CALS 205

OK breakfast 1 cup wholegrain oatmeal & 1/4 cup strawberries and 2 T skim evaporated milk
lunch: 2 turkey dogs, 1 Tumaro's multigrain tortilla. (This brand has a low carb tortilla that is net 4 carbs per each, and since I am diabetic type 2 this is perfect for carbs). medium bowl salad with fresh veggies, added 1 cup green peas and 2 T fat free dressing CALS FOR LUNCH 500.

snacks: 1/2 cup walnutrs, 2 cheese sticks TOTAL CALS 540

dinner: healthy choice chicken parmesan, 1 cup homemade red lentil soup with 2 tsp grated parmesan cheese 1 cup peas total cals 650

EXTRA: drank 64 ounce water!!!

OK, I am excited as the 10 lb. challenge starts on Thursday, and since my first day was good, I think I can build on that. I would like to inch down to maybe 16000 cals a day, but am OK at 1800 for now.

Hi there,
I love journelling, so I am real happy to find this feature and that you can leave me notes. I quit smoking on September 20, 2009 -- exactly 206 days ago! I have gotten the support to do that at quitsmokingjournal.com -- wonderful place. But the result of quitting is about 45 extra pounds, added to the 40 some I already needed to lose. So yes, much work to do.

I am in need of two new knees, so my exercise options are limited. I did join the Y and I can swim there and there is one machine in the Body Shop (I call it "Big Foot") where you are sitting, and your arms and feet are both moving. I set out good to start going daily, and then got the horrible stomach bug. I am just about ready to go back and start over, but I sure need encouragement.

My granddaughter is a member here, so I will be happy to check out what she does. I eat mostly vegetarian -- some chicken and fish only meat sources. I love salads and steamed and fresh veggies. I DO have a sweet tooth, particularly since giving up smoking but I am once again off sugar, about the 100th time in my life. This time I am staying with it.

Can't wait to get started here! Oh, I am 67 years old, a single mom, grandmom and great-grandmom. Got 3 daughters, 8 grandkids and 8 great-grandkids. What a great family.
