Just wondering if anyone has seen or heard anything like this before... started Atkins 2 week ago and lost 3kg in the first 4 days (yay, I was stoked!) However, I have totally stalled since then and have not lost another gram in the last 10 days???? What is going on? I have been quite consistent in what I've eaten, with similar snacks, exercise etc since day 1, what could possibly be going on? Getting really frustrated and discouraged.... :(

Are you recording everything you eat or is this just some of what you eat? If this is all you are eating then that is why you are in a stall. You need to shoot for at least 1500 calories a day. I know when I was eating only 700 to 900 calories a day my weight stalled. I think your body thinks you are starving it and tries to hold onto all the weight it can. Watch your artificial sweetners and there can be hidden carbs in sauces, jelly, etc. Good Luck.

I have to agree with Amanda, looks like you are starving yourself. You need to eat in order to lose. If you can, go to Atkins.com and learn everything you can about Atkins or get the book. You can actually do more damage to your body by starving it. It will take a little adjusting and you'll be back to losing before you know it.

The problem is I've never been a big eater! If anything, I may be underexaggerating the amount of veges I'm eating, but that won't help with my calories! I eat whenever I am hungry and truly feel like what I am eating is enough... thanks for the advice though, I will defnitely be closely monitoring my food journal for Calories. I have mainly been following carbs to make sure I don't go over the 20g a day for Induction. Funnily, I bought a Dukan diet book (being advertised as the Atkins diet) but they're extremely different in what you're allowed to eat! NO veges at all on Dukan, but you are allowed any No Fat products available? Finding it hard to distinguish which would be the better diet for me... thanks again, keep the feedback coming! Good luck all!

Atkins works great for me, I would be a afraid of a diet with no vegies at all. I have lost about 40 pounds in 6 weeks on Atkins. Tips to increase your calories - use Heavy Whipping Cream for your coffee - no carbs but high in calories. Eat some cheese. An ounce of cheese is just one carb and packs alot of calories. Add mayo or a little oil to your diet. I like that pre-cooked bacon for a snack and that can up your calories too. I have trouble getting my calories in sometimes too. I'm just not hungry so I have to make myself eat something. I am usually not hungry at all when I am in heavy ketoisis. I'm not sure that ketosis doesnt supress your appetite?

Oh and don't eat chicken mcnuggets from McDonalds if you can help it - the breading has carbs. You are much better off getting those carbs from acceptable veggies than from breading on chicken. KFC has grilled chicken now. If I eat out which is rarely I order a KFC original chickn breast and green beans. For eating out fast food it is a pretty low carb choice.

I can't get anywhere close to 1500 most days so I guess I should be glad I am still losing. I do try to exercise regularly and figure that helps but I am burning about 3000 calories a day and only eating roughly 1000. I started putting oil on my salads and still seem to struggle to get my calories up. It's crazy.

Make a salad dressing with 1/2 oz blue cheese and 1 tbsp heavy cream - heat in the microwave and whip it up - it is absolutely fantastic and high in calories (oh those people on low calorie diets would hate me!)
