The weather in Phoenix is BEAUTIFUL right now. Each morning, I've been taking my dog to one of the mountain parks nearby (Dreamy Draw for my friends who know Phoenix), going for a nice long walk on the trails. It feels so fantastic to be able to do this again after so many years of pain and surgery and then healing. There are javelina and coyotes and rabbits and all kinds of desert birds, and as I go up a little I get a great view of downtown Phoenix. I love the sound of rocks crunching under my shoes, and the feeling of my heart rate going up as I go up the hills. The sun is always shining here, and I appreciate my health and happiness and where I live.

A javelina is a wild pig. They are pretty aggressive, too. Reading your journal really whisked me away. I could just put myself in your shoes and it made my day! It was great getting to chat with you a little today, also. I am LOVING this weather.

Javalina is actually not a pig, even though many people think they are. Some say they are more closely related to hippos. (I'm channeling my inner (former) fourth grade teacher. ) They just run away for the most part. I haven't seen any lately, but they are the main reason I keep my dog on a leash. It was great seeing you today, Erin, and I hope you will go walking with me sometime. It's so close to where we each live, and so quiet and enjoyable.

Hmm that's interesting about the javelina. Well, they look an awful lot like boars. I heard they were dangerous but you have more experience with them than I do. I mostly see only roadkill javelina. I've only seen a live one once. Other animals I love here are roadrunners and quail, such interesting birds. I just finished the marathon of trying on clothes. I feel like I just won the lottery! You have very good taste. :)

Thanks for taking us on that trail with you. It sounds devine! All of my hiking has been on the beach LOL...it would be fun to see a Roadrunner and a Sandpiper race! :)
