Going over one day by less than 300 calories is easy to balance out by being under by just 50 calories each day the rest of the week. The important thing about tracking is just to be aware of what you are eating and plan for an average over a period of time. For example, I definitely ate over budget for the entire month of January, but was under budget for all of February. I'm on track to be just a little under my calorie budget for March, so I'll be starting April ahead of my goals.
