It is always so cool when we start back up and get that initial drop, but I’ve noticed that as I get older that initial drop gets smaller, and the plateaus hit sooner. That is the danger zone: it is in this area that the weight loss seems to be stalled, but I know from experience that it is here that the cravings will escalate exponentially. However, I have also learned that it is at this time, if I will maintain what I am doing, I will see another drop. Has anybody else learned this the hard way? I have caved in, saw the drop the next day, and wondered how well it would have gone if I had just stayed the course. Well, I am staying the course this time.

One other thing I find it helpful to remember is that it takes a 3500 calorie deficit to lose one pound, regardless of the type of diet you are on. Some may burn 3500 calories faster or slower than others. In my case, I know for certain that FatSecret has always been too generous with how many calories I am allowed to eat, so this time I have set my own RDI at 1500. I will exercise more as the weight comes off. I am amazed at how blessed I am to be in such good health and shape for being almost 80 pounds overweight. I know that won’t last if I continue on the course I have been on. Just the ramblings of someone looking to cement a lifestyle change. Have a great and blessed day, Everyone!

Yes, same here. I've decided that my body has to stabilize at each new number before it will drop to the next number. It's like "we have to hang out here for a couple of days and make sure you're serious, then maybe we'll let go of a pound."

I'm old and yes, I've sabotaged myself even though I know better. But I'm slowly working my way down and I'm definitely developing better eating habits along the way. Good luck on your journey 🌈

Dairy king. Good information . I didn't know some of what you said. I am also old and have problems health wise but compared to many, I am very lucky. Wish I had a printer , I'd paper my wall with these motivators. Stay safe and strong.

Glad to see you back! I’m trying again, as well. It IS harder each time you drop out. I’ve maintained 40 lbs of my original loss, thanks to FS. That would never have happened pre-FS. The problem is, that weight has been static for 9 years. I need to get the other 100 lbs off! I’m glad to have wright loss partners like you!
