Well, here's an unexpected surprise. The past few days I've been about 500 calories above what I really want - I still have a deficit, but not a big one. I had already had a drop in weight, and figured an uptick correction was in store for me. But no! Today I lost 1.4 pounds! Nice.
Of course, this just goes to underscore the idea that daily numbers mean very little. It's the trends and the averages that mean something. I tend to fluctuate a lot from day to day, but my weight loss average chart is a nice smooth curve, and it's starting to go down again!
