I started doing HIIT and weights and somehow gained weight AND per my Fitbit my resting heart rate has increased. I’m scared I’m messing up but hopefully it’s just temporary? I’m not on any medication at all 🤷‍♀️ my resting heart rate was 59-62BPM usually. Right now I am at 71.
I was just 125lbs last week!

Are you taking rest days between HIIT? Sometimes you might gain weight or retain water, only to lose a lot after a rest day. Your muscles are adjusting, and need time to repair themselves. Just a thought… good luck! ٩( ᐛ )و

Thank you that’s definitely helpful and has calmed me down a lot so thank you! I feel great but it’s just the numbers on the scale get to me when I’m trying so hard. I’ll be taking rest days now for sure! :)

No problem! Also, if you do HIIT for awhile, body recomposition may occur, which means your fat will convert to muscle, and as muscle weighs more than fat but takes up less volume, you’d lose inches but either maintain or even gain weight. However, this occurs over weeks/months of regular HIIT and a decent, balanced diet with enough calories to sustain you but little enough for there to be an overall deficit. A lot of people end up stalling or slowing their weight loss by not eating enough, so you’ll have to play with calories on your exercise-heavy days.
