I am switching to the 5:2 fast diet. I read the book on my camping trip after some friends had success with it. It just feels right for me. They are finding that if you just eat less as you grow older your body handles everything better. Here we go!

I'm back on! :) Eating less is always a good thing - and eating more consciously too.

I've wondered if that would work for me. I saw a great show about it on PBS, and I tend to go most the day without eating anyway. Let us know how you like it!

On the 5:2 diet you eat regular five days a week and on two non-consecutive days you eat only 500 calories (if you're a girl, guys eat 600). It gives the body a chance to actually 'recover' from the continual food onslaught, able to begin utilizing the glycogen (in other words use the stored fat for food) and yet not go into starvation mode.
