I walked almost 12000 steps yesterday. I walked across town to see a friend and I know its 2+ miles over there so maybe I did 5 miles. 10000 steps feels like a lot to do every day but we'll see. I weighed in this morning as I will be for the next two weeks and they ask you to report how you feel as you weigh in. I felt a bit guilty for having salty chips again yesterday knowing that they would cause me to retain fluids. (I need to ban them along with my not having sugar for the next ten days. I watched Fed Up this weekend.) I feel sad that I'm sabotaging my wonderful exercise with these silly foods. I've been vegetarian this week and the one thing I noticed is you can eat just as badly vegetarian as you can eating meats. The fact that its less calories doesn't seem to really matter. I honestly think that the sugar gluttony I had at Halloween brought me down. I've been sort of sad and ho-hum about everything even though its all good. Sugar is depressing me. Who needs that?

Sugar is terrible. I still don't have a pedometer so I am just trying to walk to work every day if I can. On the days I don't walk, I try to get some kind of exercise. I did not walk this weekend. This weekend was very busy - non-stop, actually. Mostly spending time with wonderful peeps so I really can't complain, but I did not exercise very much and I was not very food careful this weekend.

I just looked it up and it is 1.2 miles to work - one way. 10,000 steps is about 5 miles. So I am not walking 10,000 steps a day for sure. More like 2.5 miles a day.

That's okay, you go to the gym a lot too. I usually just walk so I'm going to try to bike around too to get some different muscles working. I like my pedometer because then I can just walk out 5000 and then turn around and come home. Today I'm going over to the credit union and back. Just remember, every step counts, even walking around the school. It all counts. You're doing it I bet. No worries.

I got my pedometer at Wal-Mart for $11. Not the greatest (Fitbit envy) but it does the job mostly.

Ame, we should insist on daily walks together in stoughton. It's such a nice walking town, don't know why I never do it. Maybe J will join us! 😄 kim, you'll be there in spirit, I know it.

Don't beat yourself up! You can and will do this, it's a matter of Will Power! You've got this Kimberly- you can and will accomplish your goal, just have faith! Eatting too much sugar always makes us crave more and that causes us to become depressed as we see the chain reaction. I've experienced it many times myself. Now, I realize that I have those sugar cravings-I try to get a small portion to satisfy my tastes and not have any extra to eat too much. Also no added sugar ice cream isn't bad-helps the sweet tooth and small container. I've gotten better at not punishing myself too-this is a big deal! If you eat a bit of something not on your diet plan, it's not the end of the world, we all need to be less hard on ourselves! !
