Still maintaining so I’m happy with that.

I’ve had a sinus infection for about four weeks now, thanks to having to switch to a generic medication. Two rounds of antibiotics have done nothing for me so I’ve been feeling pretty miserable. Oh well. I guess it is what it is.

Happy Wednesday my friends. 💜

Ugh sinus infections are horrible! Great job maintaining despite feeling crappy!

I've had symptoms, in the past, like a sinus infection and it turned out to be yeast related. The doctor was basically useless, and I spent more than 2 years with symptoms off n on, and had to do all my own research to find things that helped. At one point i tried a vegan diet and it helped a lot.. but it returned eventually when i resumed regular eating. More recently I removed all dairy, sugar and even gluten from my diet for over a month, as well as taking a daily probiotic (minimum 50,000+ but 100,000 is better) after a weekend of extreme overindulgence in everything you'd consider junk food, and symptoms got particularly distressing.. and although my diet was very restricted in the beginning (basically just vegetables) and I only added a new food once or twice a week, that method also eliminated the symptoms.. although from the research I've done it's going to potentially require eliminating these types of foods for 3-6 months to completely reverse the problem and make sure the excess of yeast has thoroughly died off, although a year of sticking to this kind of diet may be required, depending on the severity of the issue. Idk if this is what's going on with you, but if antibiotics aren't working this might. The probiotics are particularly important, as the antibiotics kill off good gut bacteria that support the majority of your immune system. I hope this helps. Feel better soon.

Goodness Queen Mari - that’s an awful journey to have taken and I very much appreciate you sharing it with me. I’ve had to adjust my food over the past couple of years because of developed sensitivities - gluten and lactose. I’m very careful about taking supplements because my immune system is somewhat wonky- RRMS. I’m two days into a third course of antibiotics which is a high dose regiment and I think it’s starting to work. My GP is really good and he works with me to resolve issues. My problem is with the neurology department in our health care system. Even though I’ve been a patient there since 2004, the staff are refusing to acknowledge my existence, and these are the very people that I am supposed to trust when it comes to my health. Anyway, I could really go off on this topic but it’s better that I don’t. Right now the bottom line is that I’m finally starting to feel better. And I’m very happy with that. 🙂
