Never give up!!! If what you are doing isn't working, simply try something else. (((HUGS)))

Sometimes it has nothing to do with willpower, it has to with finding your own way. I have a problem of wanting to eat ALL the time. So I have found a couple of foods, that are low or very low calorie that I do not give myself ANY restrictions on. As for all other foods, well, I told myself a long time ago (and when I follow this advise to myself it works very well) I can eat ANYTHING I want, I just can't eat it everyday.

Suezeequecc, willpower is highly over rated, if it was all it took none of us would have any issues. I was nearly blind and the Eye Surgeon said, I can't do your surgery in an outpatient clinic because you are over 50% BMI, lose weight, get below 50% BMI by February and we will do the surgery then. I tried and I tried, it was 8 freaking little pounds. I could not do it, by February I had gained 10 pounds. I wanted that surgery more than anything. I saw my Doctor about it, had her check my thyroid etc. She told me that I was emotionally stressed out and with my stress levels that high, there was no diet anywhere that was going to make me lose weight. I was stressed because I could hardly see, added stress of trying to lose weight to get the surgery that was going to make me see again tossed me right over the edge. So I took another path, found a new Doctor who worked out of a hospital waited two months for an appointment, then got my eyes fixed. Now I am happy, full of gratitude for my vision, my focus is clear and for the first time in 4 years I can tackle my weight issue again. Just sharing this to let you know that there are many things in your life that can affect your ability to succeed at anything, including losing weight. I had this terrible nagging little voice in the back of my head telling me constantly that....You are going blind, you won't be able to do anything you love, you will be dependent on someone else for the rest of your life, you don't take care of yourself, you don't deserve to be happy, you suck...yadayadayada day in and day out it was there and I could not shut it up, then I had the surgery, the voice is gone, all is well. Take a long look inside and see what your internal voice is telling you, find out what it's harping about and fix that one thing.

Find a way of eating that will work for you. Our bodies are all different with different needs, and so what works for me, may not work for you. Plan, prep, and log your food. This is most important! Lastly, move as much as your body will allow! You can do this!!💜

oops, sorry for the rant, it's a subject that I can relate to all too well and I tend to preach when it matters

Honestly relate to this a lot right now. What I was doing before stopped working. So freaking hungry all the time, all the things that helped me feel full a few months ago, I don’t know what happened. Sending a little hope your way, I know it’s easy to lose sometimes.

If you are really having a hard time making the internal you help the external you. Have you considered medical interventions? Gastric bypass? Wegovy or ozempic? Stomach stapling? Sorry, i just understand that feeling of helplessness but looking at your profile wondered if you had talked with your doc about it. This platform is a really good place to start as well. There is a lot of support out here. And really good ideas. Can you start with a small change like putting your shoes on and walking out the door for fifteen minutes right now for example. If so, come back and add that walk to your journal under exercise. I think these little victories will help lead to bigger ones. Loads of healthy food ideas on here as well and discount the important of drinking plenty of water. I wish you so much success.

Sorry didnt proofread. Don’t discount the value of lots of water. Fills you up. Pushes food out faster. Good for hair and skin.

I have been there, i know how it feels to have no will power…feeling defeated and guilty after indulging myself in unhealthy foods. I’ve realized on this weight loss journey you must maintain a good mindset… and get active…mind over matter. I have researched healthy snacks to eat when I do get the urge to snack. Hang in there!

That's an excuse - It will take determination and no excuses.

Imalittlelessfluffy-it’s an addiction. A food addiction. Im sure a lot of us have this issue. I certainly do. It’s not about willpower at all it’s about finding out how to correct the behavior that has probably been practiced for years and years. I certainly dont have the answer to that. I struggle with thoughts of unhealthy tasty food often. Ive just got such a supportive hubs and started making progress and feeling better felt better than the few minutes of poor eating. She’s clearly feeling hopeless but there is hope. She needs support right?!

Someone once told me, it's easier to add things than to take things away. So maybe focusing on eating more of the good stuff (fiber, veggies, leafy greens etc) can help the shift happen naturally. If you're full of the good stuff, you have less room for the junk. I don't know if that's helpful for you, but it helped me!

Start tomorrow. Please accept this advice, kindly offered and not knowing much about your history and past efforts. If you “don't know what it will take,” maybe you need to examine not just what you’re eating but why. A dietician I know says if hunger is not the issue, then food is not the answer. If you’re not doing it already, write down how you’re feeling when you take your meals so you can figure out how to change your mindset. Also you might want to follow some folks here on FS who have been where you are, made changes in their eating and exercise habits, and are now much healthier and happier. One day at a time, one meal at a time. We are all here to learn from and support one another!

It is hard to make lifetime improvement using will power alone. We all succumb to temptation. Work on developing healthy habits. Log your food. Try swapping some unhealthy food choices for something better. Do a little at a time. Over time it will become a habit. Habits are easier to maintain.
