Weight will not come off! No candy, a cookie a week or so, low cal bread, trying to stay under 1800 calories a day, moderate exercise, highball or two each night, just need to try harder!

maybe your calories are high for your metabolism. or sometimes it is the types of food you eat. whole foods are better than refined carbs and starchs.

I’m eating 700 to 900 calories a day and it’s coming off (so far). I’ve lost 38 lbs in 3 months.

I know that sounds drastic but I make wise choices (I only count calories. Nothing else) and I moderately splurge every now and then so I don’t feel deprived. I have a muscular disorder so my exercise is very limited. I do get on a stationary bike and ride hard for cardio and basic stuff for toning. So far so good. 😉

Because of the fact that I can't exercise as much as I need to, I really have stay under 1000 and best at 800-900 calories. If you aren't losing under 1800 calories a day, try 1700 per week and if no loss, continue down to 1600 until such time as you start losing. If the highball or two are part of your 1800 calories those non- nutative calories, it's a lot of calories used for no value nutritionally. Are you journaling and counting the calories?

For me, I am more likely to lose weight if I watch my protein (I'm not really a meat eater). Anything less than 18% and I'm probably won't lose. Could your macros be off?

ANONB-Yes! Protein is very important for me too! Because I’m so low calorie each day (700 to 800 calories). Protein keeps my energy level up. I don’t like meat that much either but I can do chicken and I love seafood. BTW, most fish and seafood are low fat and VERY low calorie as long as it’s cooked right (grilled, bbq’ed, broiled, baked, etc). And there’s protein drinks (watch the calories), protein bars (watch the calories), cheese, peanut butter (in moderation), tofu. If I didn’t have protein I’d be a big blob of fatigue. :)

I am on 1800 calories as that is what was recommended by my dietitian - have had lots of good helpful comments since my last posting, going to cut calories to 1500, cut evening cocktail to one instead of two(?) - we will see what happens - thanks for all the comments and encouragement!
