Diario de Chickturu, 11 feb. 14

Just read some posts of people saying that FS is a bit too indulgent with calories one should consume -RDI and also indulgent in calories lost with different exercises.

Based on that, I did a quick research in different websites and then it got tricky. Many say that I should eat around 1700 (definitely not!) and some others say that should be around 1100. It varies a lot from one page to the other, and my input is the same in all of them, so not sure which one to trust anymore. I saw two that looked kind of 'ok, affordable, not crazy', which is about RDI 1400. That is not too far away from what FS gave me, 1600. So I decided to put it in 1500 and left my activity level as sedentary (although I am exercising now 3-4 times a week), which still seems fair to me. Not sure if I am doing right or wrong... Just want to make sure to find the 'real' RDI.

Yesterday I was too tired and went to sleep very early. I didn't prepare lunch for today, which resulted on me buying whatever is available in the cafeteria of the office. WRONG. I had a panini (ouch!) and a salad with 'light' dressing (not that light!). My breakfast was very light so all in all I am not too bad with the RDI, but this was definitely a bad idea. I'll try to stick to preparing lunch every night in order to plan carefully.

Looking forward to friday, to weight myself and measure again. Not only because I expect to see some good changes, but because I want to clearly see if my current diet is working good for me or if I should change something. By then it will have been one month on a diet, and 2 weeks exercising, so this will give me some input to clearly set my expectation for the rest of Feb and until May 16. My goal at the moment is to lose 10 kilos by then, but I will only know if that is achievable based on what I see on friday.

You are absolutely right to question both the RDI and the calories used up here. As I love to tell anyone who will listen, I only use up 1800-1900 calories per day according to my Jawbone UP which tracks my every move, so I am on an 1100-1300/day plan and it's working great. Bad joints mean I have to wait another 15 pounds or so to exercise. I admire you so much for only weighing once a week!

Thanks Mrsmole; I wanted to buy the Jawbone UP but then from the reviews I saw it was not very accurate; plus it is a bit expensive, so then I didn't buy it. So then using FS I'll just try to lower my RDI and check the calories I'm consuming but don't trust them 100%. It is very difficult to weigh only one a week; a part of my gets desperate every day and wants to weigh in, but I also know myself and know that if I do it often and I don't see changes, I'll get disappointed and start losing spirit. Which must not be the case! so I better avoid it.
