Diario de dorseybroich, 23 mar. 12

I got through yesterday without eating flesh, but in the evening I couldn't resist finishing off a box of broiled chicken I had bought earlier in the week.

Maybe I'm expecting too much of myself. Looking back on when I gave up animal-based foods, before, it took a long time. I held onto milk and eggs. I used to binge on cheese when I was overcome by a craving for it. I'd buy a chunk at the grocery store and stuff it down in the pickup in the parking lot. I think I need to give myself time to adjust, lots of time, months even. Maybe even allow cheat meals every few days so I don't give up altogether. And I might do better if I didn't obsess so much about every pound gained or lost and about how I feel every single day. Better to take a longer view and try to eat a mostly plant-based diet, weigh myself only once a week, and stop staring at my face in the mirror when I wake up every morning.

My goals are to improve my health, which includes losing weight and decreasing inflammation, and to minimize the amount of suffering I cause others. My goals are not to become immortal and to save the world. I need to be realistic about what I can expect of myself and what results I can expect from changing how I eat.

Hi, I hope I don't speak out of line here, but I had a thought. Have you thought of going "meat free" after you lose the weight. You are making it very hard on yourself. Cutting calories and changing your diet totally. I know you want to decrease the inflammation.. Have you tried doing the rotation diet to try to narrow your trigger foods that might be causing the problem. The pressure you are putting on yourself is a lot. and unless you are 100% sure dairy/meat/cheese/fish/eggs (basically what most healthy people eat), are your problems, I just don't understand why you need to give up things that are very needed and good for you. I hope that wasn't too out of line, but I want you to succeed in your diet and health. what ever ou choose... you know you:-)

ps, I also can not have cheese in my house cause it is something I can eat a lot of. I understand the binge. It is so calorie dense, I have to avoid it, but I must have my dairy, bone health, yogurt, probiotics, iron eggs, meat, omega 3 fish to keep me going. I just balance it all.
