48 year old from North Carolina. I never had a weight problem as a adult, that is until my metabolism changed with age. About 4-5 years ago my favorite food group (Beer) turned on me, that and an incredibly unhealthy diet caused me to gain weight. Not very long ago I woke up and realized I was over 300 lbs, it was time to make a change.
On 2/18/2011 I started by cutting out alcohol, properly spacing my meals and learning portion control. On 3/1/2011 I started on the Atkins plan and have done fairly well but not yet there with the proper balance of fat, proteins, carbs and calories. Which is why I am here, that and the fact I would love the help and support of others walking the same road. Hopefully I will be able to return the favor.
