Hello everyone! Just wanted to check in as it's been a while.

It's been a busy week, I ended up working almost twelve hours on Monday. Yesterday I spent cramming for a Cardiology Disorders exam, which I completed last night with a 97%. This is the only place I ever tell my grades because at the beginning of nursing school I would get a lot of snide, rude remarks for doing so well and I've just had enough of the negativity. (haters gonna hate, as my eleven year old would say)

Today is my day off. I could go to the hospital and get my assignment for clinical this weekend but I'm choosing to wait until tomorrow as having it now will just give me something to worry about. Trying to learn how to handle things as they come, one day at a time.

The long work day Monday thwarted my resolution to get back on a M,W,F gym schedule, but I did go yesterday and then again today. Three workout sessions is still three workout sessions; my body probably doesn't care what day it is. I have upped the ante increasing my full body mode workout on the elliptical to forty minutes rather than thirty, and increasing my resistance level from 4 to 6. I like to keep challenging myself and when something gets easy it's time to make it hard again. I was sweating my ass off but I'm impressed in my respiratory function. No wheezing, gasping, burning feeling or panting.

Now that I have my workout out of the way I'm going to spend my day grocery shopping then hopefully relaxing for a little while before the husband and kiddo's come home. Gym again tomorrow, class tomorrow night, work Friday night then clinical Saturday and Sunday. That's the schedule :)

Happy Valentine's day buddies! I strictly told my husband, "no chocolates"! I'm sure I will sneak a couple of the kiddo's sweets and that's really all I need. Right now the kids are with grandma, but when they get home I will be surprising them with chocolates and ridiculously oversized stuffed animals.

Went out to Longhorn steakhouse last night for a much needed date night with my husband. I made some good choices, though calorie dense. No alcohol, no dessert, no deep fried carbs. I broke even on calories for the day so should be no harm no foul. It was so good though, worth every last calorie. Just need to survive today :)

Working tomorrow a.m., will be going to the gym in the evening instead and getting back on my M,W,F schedule. Seriously considering getting back into some strength training with my kettle bells. Anything to keep this weight loss ball rolling.

I still plan on weighing in tomorrow even though I cheated and weighed early on Friday. Whether I will record depends on what the scale tells me lol.

Hello buddies! We are headed into the second week of February, I can't believe how fast the time is flying.

Diet and exercise have been 110% so I'm not entirely sure about my weigh in yesterday. Last week only one pound, this past week only .4, trying to stay positive and stick with the program. Hopefully next weeks weigh in will remind me why I'm doing this.

Clinical this past weekend went well. I know I still have areas I need to improve on, and am actually contemplating asking my instructor to assign me two patients instead of one for our next weekend. I had the opportunity to round with the hospital supervisor on Saturday. She was an all around wonderful lady, 28+ years in nursing and one of her pieces of advice stuck with me "it's the things that scare you the most that you need to jump into". Well I want to be a great nurse, that is my goal. Everything in nursing is scary, it's a lot of responsibility and just starting out can be very overwhelming. I figure I might as well take the opportunity to learn as much as I can while I have an instructor to fall back on. Instead of four more patients (aka learning opportunities) over the next eight weeks I could interact with eight. We will see what my instructor says.

So it was clinical all weekend. Yesterday I took a day off from the gym. I still had to work but I desperately needed some time to sit around and do nothing. Plus I was salty about the weigh in lol. Today I started with a morning trip to the gym. Forty minutes on the elliptical followed by a mile around the indoor track. Walking, I don't run because my knees are already jacked up. Going to keep on keepin' on with the diet/exercise. Hopefully next week will show me something worth celebrating.
