Well good morning FS buddies!

Ahhhh...Sometimes we must exhale! This is what I have been trying to do everyday. Take a moment to breath and reflect on life's many blessings! I am normally a talker; however, lately I have enjoyed the stillness and tranquility! I am really seeking out peace as the daily stressor's of life can weigh heavy on the human psyche' and cause the body to retain weight! So I am exhaling...Ahhhhh....

Now, yesterday was boxing at boot camp. I love boxing as it is a way for me to release all my frustrations. Let me take a moment to say I am so grateful for this opportunity to workout with Jennifer Alcorn. She has such an incredible heart and truly wants to see people not only reach their weight goals but be healthy as well! Kudos to Jen!

Now back to my story about boot camp. Last night, we learned how to dance like Muhammad Ali. Yep that’s right me! Float like a butterfly sting you like a bee...LOL Jennifer said that I had strong punches but I needed to relax my shoulders (as I was tense; LOL) and she told me that I don’t want to get hit and that is my resistance to not fight harder. Then after telling me that I was scared to take a punch; she walked away. I was a little bothered as I am not; repeat not a PUNK. LOL I grew up with brothers and we fought all the time; however, in my now wiser years I don’t like to fight unless I have too. I think somewhere in my maturing I have learned to fight with my mind and not my fist. To add, I work in corporate America and I can not; repeat can not have missing teeth, a broken nose and swollen eyes. My face and the smile that I carry on it is one of my assets. I mean it never dawn on me that I might get hit in the face. LOL Nonetheless, I have to toughen up and take it like I know I can. Meanwhile praying, “Lord please don’t let me get hit in the face.” :D I am going to make sure that I master dodging those punches! I mean Sweet Lord I am girlie girl with an edge, not some violent person. I much rather give a hug and cuddle. LOL

All in all last night was great and I am looking forward to next Wednesday training session.

Regards,

The Butterfly~

Food for Thought by Jaye Mcalister

" Live and learn. The choices you make today will have a result See what kind of outcome your choices cause- Wake up tomorrow tweak your choices made today And go from there.
People are always saying same ol' stuff, just a different day; Well living is a learning experience, knowledge is key; And if you aren't learning as you live, then you're dying in ignorance."

Food for Thought by the Butterfly

Today is Friday my darlings! If your week has been anything like mine then you are really looking forward to the weekend. LOL Today, try not to forget to enjoy all the wonderful blessings that surround us! I am going to choose to celebrate life. To live like I have never lived and to dance as if I have never danced!

Let us not pick up a defeated attitude, but rather love ourselves through this struggle! We are not failures if we fall! If we choose to get back up, dust ourselves off and try, try, try, we will have VICTORY!

May this Friday bring you all joy, renewed strength and hope!

Warmest Regards,

The Butterfly~

Hello to all of my FS Buddy's!

I have the funniest story for ya!

Yesterday as I was on my way to boot camp (btw boot camp freakin ROCKED; I LOVE YOU JENNIFER ALCORN!), I stopped at the gas station. While seated in the car with my windows rolled up, a woman on a bicycle knocked on my window (Now, mind you I knew that she was probably drunk) and said, "Hey you got a dollar?" I said, “No I am sorry I don't have a dollar." The women then knocked on my window again and said, "Hey you got a dollar?" By then the store manager came out and told her to get away from my car and off of his property. The woman and the store manager then got into a verbal confrontation. Again the woman turn to me my car window, knocked on it, and said, "Hey you got a dollar?" Now, I was like what the heck is going on here?" I must admit I had a dollar; however, I wanted a pack of gum. I can not go to boot camp without gum! I then opened my purse and reached into it and pulled out the $1.50 that I had to purchase that pack of gum. I looked at it for what seemed an eternity and then rolled down my window and gave it to the woman. To my amazement she was very grateful and then peddled away on her bike. As I sat there, I thought gee she must have really needed that dollar. Better yet, maybe it was about me giving and sacrificing? Who knows? LOL I was able to scrape up some change and get a pack of gum (no real harm done). However, I thought it was the funniest and most entertaining situation!

Later that evening, I took a friend to the grocery store. As we were exiting the parking lot, we were approached by two women who claimed to be stranded, form out of town and needed gas money. I then gave them three dollars. One of the ladies said, “God bless you.” When dropping off my friend at her apartment, the two ladies were walking in her apartment complex. My friend was so mad and said “They just took you for a ride.” I said, “Well it is not up to me to judge them, I will let God handle them.” My heart was in the right place! I don’t want to get to the place where I don’t want to help people because you can not trust them to do the “RIGHT” thing. It is so interesting what extremist we have in our world! I would have preferred the truth over a lie; however, I guess that sometimes disparate times cause for disparate measures? Don’t know...LOL

Okay now for boot camp. Mrs. Alcorn is one tough and motivating lady! She brought her dog yesterday to do some running with us. We did push-up, ran with sand bags, and squats, sit-ups and so much more. A lot of what we did required core strength (the plank). Even more, she announced that she is starting boxing training on Wednesday’s. I am going to order my boxing gloves this weekend. I am so excited about the boxing and feel that finally I get to do something that I enjoy as a workout! Float like a BUTTERFLY~ LOL

Well that is all for now...
