I think perhaps part of my problem yesterday with my lack of motivation was that I hadn't worked out in two days. It was the last thing I wanted to do last night when I got home from work, but I did it and I feel much better this morning. I'd rather not test this theory by not working out again, but it is an interesting thought none-the-less.

I am finding staying within my calories is becoming easier and easier, even when I eat out like yesterday. There were many choices that would not have been so great for me, but I went with a better choice than a chicken and cheese quesadilla, tacos, yum. Pair it with a like, protein rich chicken, cheese, and broccoli dinner and I was set for the night. I wanted a banana split again for desert, but then I thought it just wasn't worth it. I had already gained 2.5 pounds back, no sense in making it all 6.

So yea, the last couple days of sticking to this have been hard, but I am working through it. It is a new step for me because this is the point that I usually fall off the wagon so to speak, somewhere in weeks 2 or 3 I usually give up. I don't want to give up this time and let myself continue to gain weight and balloon up til I hate myself. So that leaves me with just one choice...I won't.

So, I restrict calories too, and the hard part is when your craving something sweet, I'm not on weight watchers or jenny craig, I just watch what I eat, but what I do like is the SmartOnes desserts, you can find them in any grocery store. They have all sorts of varieties, and that way when you want something like a sundae you can go ahead and have one, and it's only like 170calories, with less sugar. You satisfy your craving without the guilt. Also they are pretty affordable, and you get two dessert per box, The peanut butter cup sundae is my fav!

I like the Smart Ones a lot too Roseanna, problem is that here in Cali, on this single worker income, our family cannot afford the extra $2 - $3 per smart ones. Usually a couple hershey kisses will tide me over just fine, but I had a sundae this weekend when company was in town and now I have the taste back in my mouth so I want more. Once the bananas are gone though it won't sound so appetizing. Banana splits without the banana is just ice cream and chocolate sauce, just not the same. My solution to fighting cravings, don't keep the stuff in the house. :P

You're so right, you cant give up! I definitely know what you mean about 'falling off the wagon'. I'm sure you have noticed that I go through about five good days and then have a total rebound one. The point is we cant give up. I get those weird cravings too. After you've had something, you think about having more. Its hard, but I know you can fight through this. I'm glad to hear you're finding it easier to keep calories in check. The longer you stick to this, the easier it will get. Pretty soon it wont even seem difficult. It will all be second nature.
