Frustrated with the scale. I walk over five miles a day eat less than 1900 calories a day and am doing a 19:5 intermittent fasting schedule. Send like I’m gaining weight if anything. Someone told me to do MORE cardio. I really don’t want to LOL. Ugh.

Maybe try using a food scale. you might be eating more than you think if you're just judging by eye. If that doesn't help you should probably check with your doctor. That calorie restriction with that activity level should have you shedding weight. Also avoid salty foods that might make you retain water.

I feel that. bdixon1989 is right. Bit I totally understand how frustrating it is.

I was frustrated last week for the same thing. I keep mine under 1700. I run/walk daily on the treadmill for at least 30-40 minutes. Nothing but water and coffee (one cup in the morning). The scale went up two pounds last week. I was averaging a 2lb weight loss before that.

I wonder if it’s the time that I weigh myself? It does fluctuate up and down depending on when I weigh in

CICO really is the bottom line but all calories are not created equal. Take a look at what you eat. Fewer processed foods, added sugars and fewer simple carbs like bread and pasta. Walking is a great activity and does a lot for your overall health but not really a great stand alone calorie burner— I can do a couple of miles at a quick pace and only burn 120 calories. Strength training helps build and tone muscle and that is what burns calories. Reassess the quality of your foods and keep going.

I have found that weighing myself first thing in the morning after any bathroom business is taken care of gives me my most accurate number.

that is so frustrating. I've seen it recommended that we should weigh ourselves at the same time every day. I like to do first thing in the morning. Another idea that may help...with your walks are you able to vary intensity through your walk? Either walk fast for intervals, or find some stairs to go up/down a couple times. it helps to mix things up. I've gotten out of the habit of this with our recent bad weather and need to mix it back in.

I feel you. But sometimes when you are trying to lose weight you hit plateaus and it gets harder from there. Don't give up. Keep following your regimen and push forward. You got this!

I have found that increasing fat while mimimizing carbohydrates works better. It's more than just calories, it's our hormonal response to what we eat. Try limiting carbs to 30 a day for a while and moderate protein and lots if good fats like avocado, butter, coconut oil, MCT oil, olive oil. No other vegetable oils. No Crisco. Bacon fat and fatty meat okay.

I actually started running/sprinting every other block on my walks. Gonna work up to running/jogging to see if that helps. Thanks for the advice

maybe you've gained 2lbs of muscle? I prefer to measure inches over watching the scale.😆🙈📏👍🏻

So strange! Your target weight is 53 lbs more than mine, so it is possible that you have a much larger frame and i am sedentary but consuming below 2000 average calories i would lose weight rapidly and i would feel hungry. Maybe underestimating the calories you consume ? I weigh food and i am sure about my calories in.

I am 260 pounds, 6'0 and eat 1920. Weight loss is perhaps 2 pounds a week at best

they say weight training is good for losing. Remember though, muscle weighs more than fat so you maybe losing fat but gaining muscle. I try to do a variety of exercises each day. I did some aerobic with weights this morning and will bowl later this afternoon.

The body gets used to the same routine and will adjust tolerance. Try shocking your body with different exercises that it is not expecting. It may not be a food issue but I like what ruthe1213 is saying also. A combination of both these things may give you substantial results. Good luck!!

Are you weighing everything? It's one of the biggest lessons I've learned! Example: Serving of peanut butter is 2 tbs. I would use a table spoon to measure it out. When I started weighing it, turned out I was eating almost double that...so instead of 190 calories I was eating almost 400 😲

I concur w/Ronin707. Good 4U, Joelilavois!!! My husband doesn't run/jog anymore. I wish he would. All he does is complain about gaining weight. We both go for walks, but IK he can do more. He's just not motivated. I also agree w/Jan Ella. Walking is good. Jogging/running is better if you are healthy enough to do so and have no joint issues, etc. Walking does put muscle on and muscle does weigh more than fat. Nobody knows that better than I. Have you increased your h2o intake? That also will add more weight, but it's all good. No need to worry. Any changes/tweeking will take time for your body to adjust to them, then your body will make the drop. Just keep making handsome (for women it's beautiful lol) choices and keep up the awesome work. It'll happen 4u....just wait and see. :)

If you're walking that much you might be gaining muscle! try taking measurements as well as weighing yourself, it might more accurately show your progress
