Going back on the low carb/no carb diet for a few weeks. I have plateaued on 98 kilos for the last couple of months and need something to kick it again.

Been pretty bad soft drink wise. But food wise I have been good, just been eating too much carbs.

My hypothyroidism is starting to get under control and i have also stared taking iodine and its been giving me some extra energy i didn't have before. So I am iodine deficient. Just another one added to my list of deficiencies.

But otherwise i'm feeling good over all.

You may need to drop your calories or increase intensity of exercising. I wouldnt drop carbs. Our bodies need adequate amounts just to function daily.

@on2it I have never followed the calorie count as it wont work for me and my hypothyroidism as it would mess with my metabolism. And the low carb diet is only for a few weeks once every 6 months. I have a high protein and high fat diet with lots and lots of fruit and veg and don't have any refined white carbs such as bread, pasta, potatoes and white rice. And as for exercise I do an hour a day of cardio and weights.

As long as you are getting a bit of everything, low carb is better than no carb but as you say, you have lots of fruits and veggies anyway so you'll be getting all the right kind of carbs from them :-)

Search for Low Carb Down Under on youtube if you ever want to delve into the science behind carb restricted diets. Good resource. Low Carb is essential if you are insulin resistent anyway
