To be quite honest, it has been really hard to come out of the training mode I was in for Tough Mudder and back into a normal mode. I took about a week off from my healthy eating, and I'm paying for it today. I binged like a madman this Easter weekend. The weekdays are easy for me, but the weekends are always trouble. Thankfully the next 3 weeks I have races every weekend so I'll be busy running. I need motivation though, so, I decided that I'm going to be running my first half marathon in August. The catch with this half marathon is that it is not a road race, but a trail race. This week I'll be catching up on good eating and exercising, then I'll be starting my training plan for the half marathon.
I have a question for my buddies out there. If you trained for months preparing for something, how did you come out of it and go right back to the way you were? Did you keep training like you were preparing for your activity? I'm not quite sure how I should come out of one of these races.

Hey everyone! Feeling great today after eating well all day. Went to the gym and lifted chest, and went on a nice "slog" this night after dinner. It was slower than normal, but it was a relaxing run. Half a day at work tomorrow! Pretty excited! Too bad it's going to rain all weekend! Have a good Easter everyone!

Not a fan of this weather lately. It's rained the last few days and it has been depressing. I haven't been eating great. I had 3 cookies today, a croissant for breakfast, but a healthy lunch. The day can still be salvaged!
Started lifting legs last night. This will help me in increasing my speed as well, but MANNNN, I am rediculously sore today. Really working them hard last night.
On a brighter note, softball season is starting! Our first practice is tonight, but of course, it is raining. We have a tournament next weekend to start off the season. I have a 5K race that morning so I will miss the first game unfortunately. I'm going to have to learn not to use softball as a replacement for my workouts, but an addition. Not sure how I'm going to make time for it all, but I'm going to try. Have a good Wednesday all!

Happy Monday everyone! Race went well, finished the 10K in 53 minutes and 22 seconds which placed me 13th out of 26 in the age group and 92nd out of 254 overall! Unfortunately after the race, my buddy and I went to get some food, and we both ended up getting food poisoning. Still not feeling great, and I probably won't eat a chicken quesadilla for a while haha.
Here's the Garmin data from the race. I think I might of lost signal or the course might of been a bit short?

Another weekend, another race. Tomorrow is my first official 10K race! I know I've ran over 6.2 miles plenty of times, but it will be interesting to see how I pace myself in the race environment. Knees are still torn up from Tough Mudder, and I'm finding new bruises every day! My goal is under 55 minutes, but I would be happy with under 60 for my first. I was told it was a pretty flat run as well, which is nice.
I haven't been where I want to be weight-wise in the last few weeks. I went about 2 months straight steadily losing weight every week, now the last two weeks I have gained almost 2 pounds. I've been dipping into sweets which I normally don't do. I'm going to cut that out, but I will be drinking beer this weekend, so it might not turn out too well.
I'm going to switch up my workout routine a bit next week to try to get things back into gear. My minimum length for a run will now be 4 miles instead of 3. Also instead of lifting 3 days a week, I will be lifting 4 days a week and finally including legs (blah) into my workout. My calf size has never been a problem since I run a lot of hills, but my quads need some work and I definitely need to add squats into my routine.
I'm also interested in trying some new supplements after a post I read on here the last couple of days. I need a reccomendation on what I should replace or add to my supplements for maximum results.
Right now here is what I take:
GNC Mega Man Sport Multivitamin
GNC Green Tea Extract
N.O. Xplode pre-lift
Dymatize Whey Protein Isolate post-lift
Any input or feedback on this would be appreciated!
