When I joined this site my weight was 264 yet before that my highest verifiable weight (from doctors records) was 316. Although I have no record of it I remember hitting 340. As of today I am 218. Although I did plateau in weight for about 8 months it's been 2 1/2 years to get here.
When I first seriously stuck to slimming down the pounds just melted off. Now as I approach a more reasonable size it takes allot (ALLOT) more effort and focus to lose and not let frustration override my new lifestyle habits.
When I was at my heaviest/fattest/morbidly obese I was offered a gastric bypass. So I contemplated what that involved. Many believe if they receive the surgery that's all you need. Sorry, doesn't work like that. If you don't change your eating habits for life all you've done is have useless surgery. So I figured why not adopt the lifestyle I would need to follow without the surgery. At least give it a try right. So I went back to my doctor and said give me 3 years to try it my way and if I can't do it I'll consider my options.
There are countless diets and a huge market for weight loss pills, exercise gadgets, liposuction, fat freezing procedures including foods like diet this and diet that, no fat butter, sugar free sugar, etc. I bet if you sold water and labeled it as 100% organic people would be on Amazon ordering it by the truck load.
Anyway, everyone is a bit different. You need to find what works for you and adapt a food/eating behaviour to something that is reasonable for you to accept and be able to maintain. Now we are all human and succumb to cravings and overindulgence at times. Th key is not to deprave yourself of all that you like to eat but to be able to keep it in check. Don't fall into the notion that "Ohh dang I blew my diet yesterday so I'm a loser and I quit" then go back to your old habits.
Although I could write a novel about this let me close it out.
What I've come to realize is that cravings and desires (even hunger pains) can be overcome. Everything is in your head. If you can talk yourself into something you have the power to also talk yourself out of it too. The key to it all lies within yourself. There is no magic pill, surgery, fat sucking machine or potion. You can't even exercise away a bad diet. Try to exercise away 4,000 calories a day.

This is what worked for me. I honestly hope you can find what works for you.
Please give feedback (good or bad) if you have it. Include anything you want.
Thanks for listening.
